The Parish Church of St Lawrence is at the heart of the village and the main home of the festival, hosting the classical concerts and other events.
The life of the festival is intertwined with that of the church and a number of our events are part of the church calendar,
St Lawrence is the oldest, and we would claim, the most beautiful, building in the borough of Surrey Heath and also the borough’s only Grade 1 listed building. Its earliest features date from Norman times.
The fine music that the festival brings to Chobham every year is a marvellous way to enjoy the atmosphere of the aisles of St Lawrence. Being able to share this historic space with our audiences is an intrinsic part of what makes the festival distinctive.
As well as showcasing the wonderful church buildings in Chobham, the festival also joins in celebrating the spiritual life of Chobham. The parish Harvest Festival Service is included as part of the programme and the festival draws to a close each year with a rousing Songs of Praise service at St Lawrence Church.
